Roster Breakdown 2

Seven more players have been assigned to Providence.  As I mentioned in the update to the first roster breakdown, Zach Hamill needs to clear waivers in order to be assigned to Providence.  Trent Whitfield is also in the same boat.

F Zach Hamill (2007 1st Round Pick, 8th overall)
F Trent Whitfield (1996 4th Round)
F Jamie Arniel (2008 4th Round)

D Colby Cohen (2007 2nd Round by COL - part of Hunwick trade)
D Zach McKelvie (undrafted signed in 2009 but not released from the Army until recently)
D David Warsofsky (2008 4th Round by STL - part of Sobotka trade)

G Michael Hutchinson (2008 3rd Round)

Who's left?  Glad you asked!  We're coming down the home stretch and almost all the spots are already locked up as this team looks very similar to the one that just raised the Cup.  There's still some good competition going on.

Forwards:
LOCKS - Patrice Bergeron, Gregory Campbell, Nathan Horton, Chris Kelly, David Krejci, Milan Lucic, Brad "the Gnat" Marchand, Rich Peverley, Tyler Seguin, Shawn Thornton

FIGHTING - Jordan Caron, Chris Clark, Benoit Pouliot, Lane MacDermid, Daniel Paille, Max Sauve

PREDICTION - Paille and Pouliot with Clark being the healthy scratch to start the season.  I don't like it, but Claude hates change and loves veterans.  Personally I'd like to see Paille/Pouliot the healthy scratches, Clark on the fourth line, and Caron on the third, but I just don't feel thats the way Claude's going to draw it up.

Defensemen:
LOCKS - Johnny Boychuk, Zdeno Chara, Joe Corvo, Andrew Ference, Adam "the Dude" McQuaid, Dennis Seidenberg

FIGHTING - Matt Bartkowski, Steve Kampfer

PREDICTION - I give the edge to Kampfer since he's played with the team before, but basically a coin flip at this point.

Goalies: Anton Khudobin is still in camp and has been playing well.  He only gets any time if an injury occurs to either Thomas or Rask.
